Regulations for Hiroshima Independent Film Festival
1. Eligibility
• Film Types: Both short and feature-length films are eligible.
• Completion Date: Films must have been completed after January 1, 2022.
• Genres: All genres, including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films, are welcome.
• Language: Non-English or Japanese films must include English or Japanese subtitles.
2. Submission
• Submission Platform: All films must be submitted through the official festival platform or designated submission portals (e.g., FilmFreeway).
• Deadline: Submissions must be completed by the stated deadline on the festival website.
• Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee applies. Early bird discounts are available for submissions made before the early deadline.
3. Rights and Permissions
• Filmmakers must own all rights to their submitted works, including music and visual content.
• Any film containing copyrighted material must have appropriate permissions before submission.
• By submitting, the filmmaker agrees to allow the festival to screen the film online for the duration of the event.
4. Screening • Format: Films will be streamed online during the festival dates on a secure platform accessible to registered viewers only.
• Audience Accessibility: The festival ensures films are geoblocked.
• Quality: Submissions must meet minimum technical standards for screening (e.g., HD resolution).
5. General Rules
• The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that violates submission regulations.
• Decisions made by the jury are final and non-negotiable.
